After a 19 week wait my Yellow 1200 has finally arrived (pick up thursday) Yeeeehaaaa !! :D :D :D :D :D

Went to have a look today and notice it has come equipped with Trailwings !!

I have seen from the excellent tyre FAQ and using search that these arnt everyones favourite.

What specifically is the problem with them ? and should I be concerned or is the difference only slight ?

I reckon a change to Tourances is on the cards once these wear out

Cheers Mike

congrats

Good colour choice Mike. I know how it feels to wait.......6 mths in my case. I've had mine for about about a month now and have put 2K on it. It has been faultless so far apart from a smelly clutch - do they all have this as a feature???
Mine came with Trailwings too and like you I was a little disappointed. I don't have a point of comparison but so far they have been ok and the bike as a package handles really well - maybe with other tyres it would handle even better....I too will probably change after they wear out...
Have fun

I've got 8,500km up on Trailwings, wet, dry, tarmac and dirt, A,B,C and D roads, solo and two up, fast and slow. They have been excellent. I have nothing to compare them with, but I am very happy with their performance and wear rate.

9000mls

Mine was also equipped with trailwings on collection, I had no complaints except maybe for a reluctance to warm up properly, they also cool down very fast as well, once I was used to that I just rode a little harder to keep them warm and all was OK.

However, at 7000mls the rear was NFG so was changed fo another Trailwing, this upset the bike causing twitching, whitelining & just a general feeling of being unstable.
I decided to stick with the tyre for a while (to tight to change a brand new tyre) after 1200mls the bike settled down noticably over a week or two and now is back to its old self?

Still when the fronts shot (soon) I think I'll fit Tourances or 020's

Does any body know of a good way of running in new tyres in the winter? General advice is take it easy for 100 dry miles, but I can't remember the last time I did 10 dry miles!

Ah well soon be Christmas!

Have a good one

Shep :beerjug:
