3 years old and 60k km and still can't find neutral without shuffling between 1st and 2nd until I get lucky. It seems that time and miles (kilometres) makes no difference.
Just had the software update at service, no difference finding neutral ,
It's not bad but hot engine stationary it can be a bit fussy,
I have been using the neutral from second method Giles uses when going to a definite stop,
It's done 7 k now haven't noticed any improvement, it is a slick gear change,
I had a 2016 Gsa demo for 3 hours that was my first time, not sure about the quick shifter, held the throttle steady it was a bit jerky,
Roamer
And that's what I've experienced on every other bike I've ever ridden since 1970. Apart from Hondas but they don't count. But my thinking is that if I"m having trouble selecting neutral I've not planned my gear selection properly anyway.
Glad I read this...65 plate GS and thought I was just getting it wrong. Only recently got it so getting used to the Gear Assist too and assumed it must be my fault.
Yep, but the Africa twin is in such demand that Honda can't make them quick enough, especially the auto version. Now the factory is closed due to earthquake damage so the estimated delivery for mine was 3/4 months so it will now be much longer.
I came back to this forum to check the clutch/gear/corrosion issues I used to have on my '13 TE before I sold it on and went back to Honda, in case BMW had addressed the issues and maybe I would consider getting a '16 version. Seems like BMW haven't changed a bit.
