Firmware Update costs ?

What is the latest version no? Mine is on 001 019 181. Can’t say I need an update, no issues as such, quite like the idea of the ‘sport screen’ (I think it’s called), but not sure if it’s even available as such, for a 2018 model.
£24 is cheap. That's 15 minutes of labour for a main dealer. And that's how long it takes to plug it in, press the buttons and make a brew.
£85 is a total piss take though. Id be questioning that.
Firmware updates are free from BMW. But you're paying for someone to plug it in and do it for you.
But software is a product. It takes time and money to develop. Why should you get the latest software for free on your old bike if you don't have problems with the current one ? Do you demand new decals or accessories from your dealer because they've been updated ?

I would agree that £24 is not a bad price(In BMW World) but i don't see that your comparison is the same thing at all ! If items get upgraded thats life Luggage / and decals is what you expect and i agree that I would not expect a dealer to sort, but if BMW spend time and money to upgrade Firmware i would suggest it would be a bug fix or to deal with an underlying issue not for cosmetic purposes and then like Apple / Samsung products it should be issued for free to customers

I would also argue, dealers invest quite a bit of money into diagnostic systems in order to do the updates in the first place
I think it's about £20,000 for initial set up and obviously an ongoing subscription.

You get many clowns wanting you to reset the service interval after they have done the service themselves at home? Funny when they start banging on in forums how bad the dealer is when they refuse

I complain BMW had no coffee last time covid rules, that is my complain this year
I'd consider coffee a luxury from the dealers here in Australia! lol

You need to come down to Melbourne fredaroony,well when you can and I hope for you its early.Doncaster BMW give barista coffee and a selection of cakes for free every time you go there.

I would think updating the software consumes a couple of watts.
