went for a proper spin on the bike today ,just to see what it was like .
i had only ever ridden the sbw hertford bmw 800 ,for about 10 mins
well ,i like the engine ,nice and willing ,not to rev happy.
the seat as we all know ,is like a cricket bat ,but its bearable,or changeable.
i do need bar risers ,just to lift the bars a bit.
overall im very happy with the bike ,its like a proper motorbike.
ive had plenty of 1100/1150 gs/gsa 1200 gs/gsa ,they atr all fine machines ,infact i would say the 1200 gsa is the finest way to cross countrys.
but im in a different groove at the moment ,and the 800 suits me perfect, with only one but ,and its a biggie ,the screen ,windblast.
i know the std screen is crap ,and im not going into screens as its been done to death, but im hoping the metal mule/powerbronze one is going to be better ,the wind blast was so bad ,i thought my head was going to be ripped off,the worst ive ever had (it was windy today ,and i had a peaked motocross arai tourx style on ) but it was horrendous.

Let me know how you get on with the new screen - it's about the only thing I can fault with my 800, so keen to get some advice.

I know its all been said but i put the givi on mine and loved it,very similar to the pb one,5'7 by the way, still sold it all though and kept the gsa:D

I've got the Metal Mule on mine, massive improvement. Emjoy the bike!

If you want to get the seat sorted, I can recommend Tony Archer, mines brilliant now.

I've got a donor seat to sell when I get home from Oz if you're interested!
