Having got paid out on my written off 12gs I got the urge for an 1150 adventure. After much debate and classified searching I found a 2004 adventure with all the extras for what I felt a fair price from a member of this parish.
So with a deposit paid I set out to deepest Glasgow travelling from South Yorkshire by train. (First class I might add).
On seeing the bike the deal was done and with some trepidation I set off with a full tank and three panniers full of extras after reading how top heavy and tall the bike is. I'm 5'10" in my heels.
After about two minutes it felt like I'd been riding it for years. Much more stable than my old 12, less buffeting and generally better connected to the road.
The power delivery is silky smooth and the gear box like a well oiled rifle action.
So 300 miles and over 4 hours later and I arrive home with a grin on my face that SWMBO would try to wipe off with the comment of "I don't like it, the colours horrible". I did explain the silver with black engine are apparently the faster ones to no avail.
I still think its the best bike I've owned and can't wait to get out on it this week.
Oh and many thanks to Kev Wallace of this parish for the bike and his hospitality, as well as showing me the way out of Glasgow.

The 1150 is the best of ALL GS's by far.
