traded my r1200r in for the new gs coz i wanted something a little bit taller.
Now done a few miles including a trip down to the South of France...loving it

just wish there had been bikes like it when i was 17

we bikers are so spoiled now...handling, brakes, comfort, performance, tyres etc etc

I also traded my r1200r for a similar reason.
R1200r was a great bike, but needed better wind protection.

What colour LC did you get / what spec / spokes?

Touring on it already - highly envious - I'm doing up the house to sell...
No hols for me for a while.

I got the TE in grey with standard wheels, vario panniers and liners also bought a zumo 660 to fill the hole.

I agree about the r1200r...great bike but the wind protection wasn't great...one of the big differences i noticed since getting the gs is how comfortable it is at speed!

I managed to get a nav 4 cheap second hand - otherwise I'd have bought the 660.
