First Puncture

Its another PR4 but if i get another puncture im going back to the AnakeeIII hopefully it was just a one off but i have read on here about a few getting punctures on the PR4
 
Its just vulcanizing glue. Any cheap puncture repair kit has the stuff. Stays good for a year.
 
'Safety Seal' self vulcanising rats tails (no glue required) - 3 punctures on different bikes (and 2 in car tyres(that had not gone down fully). Worked fine on a loaded up tour in Europe to end of tyre life (did 3000 miles ?) looked at it when I replaced the tyre myself when near legal limit and it was still solid. I would trust it again - Safety Seal not the cheapest but TUV approved as permanent repair. :nenau
I understand the need for tyre places removing to repair is to inspect for internal damage in case of run flat (hard to do on a bike) which destroys car tyre side walls, or impact damage. Also punctures near edge of tread or in side wall are areas of more flex so repairs will likely fail and not advisable.

Bobad, which kit did you opt for?? See there is one for £56 and one slightly cheaper is the only differnce the palm end for your hand on the tool to make it easier on your hands when in use?? Looks a great piece of kit and simple to use only addition would be the need for a pair of pliers..
 
They all work the same, I think the pricier ones just come with more plugs/bits and pieces in the handle. I went for the cheaper one, used it twice (worked perfectly each time) then bought some extra plugs for about £8 off fleabay.

I am lucky enough to have my sister visiting from the states this week.... after reading this thread last week, a quick pop FaceTime to,Arizona and I now have the stop n go kit with the compressor..... $55, or about £42.50... seems like a bargain. :D

I think the mushrooms are better , but the sticky thread plugs should also mushroom up behind the hole if you are doing it right.

Push through, 1/4 turn and slowly retract .
 
Just use a tubeless grade in-tyre sealant. It will stop punctures before you know you have one so regularly check for stuff stuck in the tyre. Tubeless grades will not damage alloy wheels. Some others will damage the alloy. Puncturesafe stopped a leak caused by an M6 bolt!!! When I took the tyre for a professional repair the fitter asked me why I was bothering as the tyre was fine.
