Don't know how true it is but I was comparing the cost of a new GSA to a used one and the dealer said that it wasn't worth pricing a new one up as the 2008 order book was closed....I took this as an indication that some changes were on the way.
I was led to believe today that you can no longer order gs or gsa to your own spec and that there are very few unregistered one's left in the country.

I've been led to believe they are not actually being built yet (apart from the odd pilot build unit). The line was being retooled through September and a "senior" person at BMW was not willing / able to confirm that they would be available by the March reg. date.
As for being radical, they will look much the same. BMW are calling it a "technical update". There will be a host of detail engineering improvements but the main, obvious difference will be the adoption of "double overhead cam technology" resulting in "an additional 5bhp and smoother delivery".
a dealer told me today they are using the hp2 engine with a 15 bhp increase but no other noticable change

Just to add to the confusion, yesterday I spoke to my dealer at my R12GS's 50000km maintenance. Here's his info :
- overhead cam shaft as in HP2 Sport (duh)
- less hp gain due to worse 'flow' of air intake, probably up to 110-115hp.
- new colours (who 'd have thought)
- minor changes in design ('my wife wouldn't recognize them')
- no clue as to where world presentation would be
- delivery from june 2010 onwards (seems a bit late, hard to believe)
- same name (R1200GS)
