first ride review on youtube R1300RS

Thanks for this.

I will be the first to admit that I hated the water cooled engine (of any size) in the GS, but liked it in the RT. I’ll have an extended ride on it and the RT, to see which (if either) shakes my wallet….. that is if I don’t just stick with my 450 Himalayan, which is right up there in the “Best bike ever, mate. It’s a keeper….” category *

* TM Arsey,

Had a look yesterday, looks narrow. Screen is small, wonder how effective is. Feels like mine. The high bars feel like my set up but a bit narrower. Tank is higher and you feel in the bike? Mind I have the highest seat. ASA was on display in Sport colour. The price is mental. Recon the blue is the best colour. The black is a flat colour, not metallic.
My Sport looks better.

I like it, and the seating position seems more "natural" than the previous RS, but I noticed yesterday when jumping around on one it has very short levers - I could only fit 3 fingers (ooooerrr missus !)

Nothing to Prove review

Not a fan, overall. Less fuel, lighter wheels but still made it heavier. Sportier riding position. Clearly aimed at folk like the younger chap in the first video above.

Would have to be the Black one for me.

I think they have pigeon holed the colours with different models.

I wonder if the fancy suspension could be specced onto the Black model.

Why would anyone/thing need more than 3 fingers

They have looking at the configurator, a retrograde step IMO. Over 20k for the motorrad colours now, so no thanks.
The Black one in the photo above has the fancy suspension....

I've no interest in any of the radar gubbins.

Fancy ESA, quick shifter, heated grips, Nav Prep.....and the jobs OXO.

it might have ESA but as explained in the NtP video, with a white shock spring, it does not have the top "sport" suspension that comes in a £3k pack that includes the RWB paint.

The poshest suspension comes with a red spring

Give it 4/6 months, that's how long it took BM to adjust the configurator. The 1250RS Sport originally came without passenger seat/luggage mounts, eventually they released the Sport in a standard configuration. To turn the Sport into a single seater it now cost £250. But you lose the top box and pannier carries points. Takes about 45 minutes to convert to Sport spec. But you don't have any luggage space.

Saw the R1300RS black (triple?) for the first time yesterday at Sycamore. There are some strange finishes, both on the engine as well as the rear subframe - look more like a ceramic cooking pan.. The bars seem higher & set back further which will suit some I guess, but I'm OK with the standard 1250RS set-up personally.

Some say it rides well, but it doesn't offer me anything that would tempt me to change.

I'll look at a used one in 2 - 3 years if any sell over here.

The 1200 or 1250RS weren't a particularly strong seller in Ireland 🇮🇪 for some reason......so used ones are thin on the ground (and we can't go over to ye guys for our bikes anymore)
