Maybe they charge high price hoping you will move to another dealer

Any comments from people who's actually used Coopers would be appreciated rather than mindless drivel like your comment.
Just done my first 600 miles on my R1200GSA 90th Ann edition. Got the bike on Saturday so happy to do the running in as per the book (higher and higher revs up to occasional redlining during last 150 miles. Was annoyed that the dealership said to keep the revs under 4k for first 600 miles. This is crazy advice and completely not what is written in the user manual for all post 2010 bikes. Maybe this was correct for pre 2010 GS bikes but my bike is 2013 purchased new 5 days ago!
Anyway was very disappointed to hear what they will charge me for the first service. GBP178.50 incl VAT.
Please can someone tell me if I am being ripped off this looks very high and from what I've heard by word of mouth people say its definitely on the high side compared to other dealerships. When I told the guy who took my bike this morning he said nobody had ever said they were dissatisfied with the price charged for first services by Cooper Tunbridge Wells. I think this is a plain blatant lie. If anyone can tell me the opposite I'd like to go back them with proof it's not true.
Overall apart from the Sales Rep Elle, who is excellent, the rest of the dealership is very poor. Countless errors by the mechanics over the years ranging from delivering bikes with parts missing, incorrect tyre pressures, giving non ABS / non ESC high performance bikes (S1000RR) out to new riders as loan bikes without explaining this slightly important fact.
Would really like to name and shame Coopers. They need to improve and are letting down BMW in the South East.

... I have to admit I have been screwed over by BMW dealers and other merchants too. It's f**king annoying.

Is this the tale of your cunning money making plan of leasing motorcycles for three months?![]()
Have you spoken with the dealer about these issues or are you just whinging on the forum hoping to get some sort of anti dealer backing?.
If you don't like them, go elsewhere. Not rocket science is it?![]()

Why this is such a bad malicious thing to ask is beyond me.![]()

It's not, it's just the way you did it. There's not many posters who can get the average forum user to side with a BMW dealer over them but congrats to you for managing it.

It's the above average forum user I'm targeting. Yep funny how the sheeple in a crowd follow eachother. This thread has momentum to defend the dealership, which is fine. But the useful replies are those with a similar or contrary experience to share of this particular dealer. Not useless brain dead moronic suggestions to 'go elsewhere'. Hadn't thought of that mr average forum user!!!!
Thanks all anyway. Certainly highlights the calibre of many who frequent this forum.

I'm still worried by the news of the S1000RR loaner... What's the story?
