First Service

Hi,

I have recently (about a month ago) purchased a new R1200GS adv. I have my first service booked however I have done more miles than I had anticipated as I had an unscheduled trip from London to Penrith for a family issue. I am interested to know they say the first service should be between 600 and 1000 miles, At my current rate of riding i will be at around 1200miles before the service. I have rung around a few dealers to see if anything sooner is available but it seems like its a busy time. Any sugestions or comments, I do not want to "hurt" my new bike..

JMO but 1200mile before the first service is a bit to high, the first service which includes re-torqueing the cyl heads and resetting the valve clearances needs to be done after a settling in period, I don't think you will be doing the bike any favours buy extending this period.

Get on the phone and explain your problem to a dealer you may be lucky and get a cancellation
