SWMBO bought me a few bits for my GS for chrimbo which I fitted over the holiday. I'm just back to work and have found the bike to be even better with the mods.

I've fitted a HID light to the dipped beam which has totally changed my riding. I feel much more confident on the dark fenland country roads and I know other motorists can see me better. Obviously it's a brighter light & although the beam pattern is still standard I find it to be a massive improvement over the normal lights. Fitting was quite straightforward. I ended up with the ballast on top of the airbox and the exciter inside the dashboard. The cables run along the left hand side and are cable tied down.

I've also fitted Fastway footpegs in the low-boy position and they are as good as I'd heard about. My knees had been giving me some pain lately and these pegs help a lot. They're also much more comfortable when I need to stand up to alleviate numb bum :)

I've still got a Stebel Magnum & a fat foot to fit but they're on the list for this weekend.

Twotter - what bike have you got? You haven't, by chance, fitted a HID kit to a 1200 have you?

Obviously more confused thinking! The fast blue & white ones were clearly saved until last, when b*w thought that riders had got used to the slower black & silver models! 547710#

The blue and white "tarts handbag" was introduced to appeal to former Yamaha Virago owners in an attempt to introduce a little excitement into their sad middle aged lives. This bold move sadly backfired for riders of genuine "proper GS' bikes who now find themselves accompanied on every trip by handbag riding saddo's :D

After some recent banter I quite like to think of my 1150GS as the Tesco Value model
