I bought a Tills.de 1100 Injector kit which arrived today and I fitted it.
While doing so I came across a problem of a constant flow of petrol from the injector feed pipes.
I did not turn on the ignition before starting the job as I did not want to pressurise the system but as soon as I removed the old injectors from the fuel pipe I had a continuous flow of unpressurised fuel.
I used the old injector to stop the flow of fuel while I fitted the new injectors and when I ran up the bike it performed as expected.
Some time ago I replaced the fuel pump (non standard) and filter and removed the quick connectors from the tank as they were broken.

When I turn on the ignition I get a buzz from the fuel pump for about one second, pressurising the system and then with the engine started the fuel pump seams to do what it is meant to do.

My question is, the instructions said that when removing the injectors you will get a small leakage, but I got a continuous flow, luckily the tank was almost empty.
What may I have done wrong?
Thanks all.

What were your thoughts after fitting the new injectors? Did you notice a significant difference?

Presume this was the kit?

I fitted 1200 injectors and it transformed my 1997 1100. I've had friends with new bikes ride mine and been very impressed.

I've fitter 3 sets to different bikes over the years and have never had the fuel flow issue... weird ... My two 1100s fitted over the years have certainly been smoother... The original single point injectors have always worked well but are a bit on/off at slow speed also being the earlier motronic version... Not cured but improved...👍

Apologies, I did not see this.
My bike did not have a very smooth delivery of power, and would hunt and surge, the bike has only 27k miles on it which means it’s been sat in a garage most of its life, with the problems that lack of use brings.
Changing the injectors has made a huge difference to the smoothness of power delivery, with a proper service I think it will become turbine smooth ( I hope) . It is as smooth as my old R850GS, which with a full Steptoe service and my Rose tinted goggles firmly attached was super super smooth.

I bought my kit from tills, I think they have a minimum order value of 150 euro, so I bought an air, oil filter and an oil filter removal tool, and paid the premium delivery service at €20 euro, but did not pay any further duties which I was expecting to, it might be worth talking to tills to understand their minimum order value t&c.

Looking at my PayPal statement with all the things I bought and the delivery I was charged £146, which is a lot less than you can get in the uk (as far as I know). And the injectors are performance matched with tills supply.

Looking to do this to my 1150. Is this the best place to get these from ?

Thanks for the reply. That’s great to hear that it makes a noticeable difference, I’ll be ordering the same kit from tills.

Cheers

I fitted 1200 injectors to my 1100RT, made a huge improvement, it had done 65k miles and didn't have much service history. I paid £200 for the injectors, and stainless steel bracket/modifcation parts, from Motorworks BMW in Huddersfield.
I've now got a 2007 1200GS, done 75k miles, and I looked at replacing the injectors but this time it would be standard parts replacing worn ones. I checked how much 'genuine BMW' ones cost, was shocked to see they are about £200 each! I had kept the boxes from my 1100RT swap, did a quick part number search online, and found genuine Bosch ones for £26 each
At that price, I'm going to replace them, of course the original ones should last, but as I'm planning a tour of Europe next spring, its an easy decision!

Can you share the part number please? Thanks!

If you guys just look on the MWorks site they're easy enough to find... They do used kits and new... I have had 2x tills kits but last time I bought MWorks used and the work fine and have better brackets than my last tills kit...👍

Motorworks kits are £99 for 2nd hand pair of R1200 injectors, £150 for a new pair. (and £75 for a new original, £28 for a 2nd hand original)

If I can buy 2 new for less than £30 each - I will. :D

Yep, the Motorworks used kit is great value, but they were out of used injectors, so I bought new. You can buy the later injectors from several places, for less than £30 each, but you still need the brackets and seals that allow them to fit the older bikes. Motorworks don't sell their brackets on their own, they've likely spent a lot of money getting their kits made, so they sell them with injectors, and make a profit. Seems fair to me!

Are you talking about this adaptor???

Ah - no - I see....

I just did a search on Motorworks filtering by the R1100GS (instead of the 1150 Rockster) - now I can see the kits you're talking about.
The 1100GS presumably has a different mounting system to the 1150. The 1150 doesn't need any new brackets to use the uprated injector bodies. My mistake.

Would still be interested to know where you saw the R1200 (EV14) injectors at decent prices. :)

I'm not sure why Motorworks are saying this is all you need to fit EV14 injectors. I bought the kit that has this seal and a stainless steel bracket, with new injectors costing £200. Part # FUA01100A-1
You can get Bosch EV14 injectors from a few places, # 3165143566206, or Bosch 0280 158 038

If you get the kit new or used with all the brackets and the seals you will have them fitted in 1/2 hour... It's very easy and as with the servoectomy threads, don't make things more fiddly than they need to be. Both the Tills kits and the MWorks ones are very easy to fit...

Very easy to fit, agreed 100%. 10 minutes a side once the bodywork is off, then just switch on the ignition, open and close the throttle fully, twice, turn off ignition before starting. Thats it, bikes reset and away you go!
