Fitting a box to the PD, Satan made me do it!

Thought about using 15mm p-clips?

Not as solid, but will let you get an appreciation of whether you like the box / whatever there. Only problem is that they won't add any height like the pipe clamps :(

yes - went to a specialist shop here and got a load (could only buy bulk :rolleyes:).
had a long think / decided not worth the chance of them fracturing onroad and the pannier parting company with the Bike at high velocity :eek:.

hence i loved the idea of these clamps;
solid. very solid. neat and tidy. :thumb2

as for liking - it's not an issue. i have a talent for taking a good looking Bike and making it really Fugly, so i'm told. :rolleyes:
dilligaf? - nope :P
practicality is more important and am fed up with TWO sets of panniers taking up loads of room in the shed. :mad:

if i could sort this - i could sell on my "Genuine Classic Panniers and Topbox" :rolleyes: and just stick with the (superior :cool:) Givis.

Thanks for the idea though - am happy to hear any more too! :thumb2

I have been using the P type of clamps for quite a while - on a few bikes as well
I do fit more than probably needed - just in case - If you think that they are not up to the duty you require, cut a thin piece of SS and wrap it around outside of the plastic clip and drill holes to match
Most clips break because they have been permitted to move about ( or were not fitted well at first fix)
If yer follow me drift
Or make yer own blocks with 2 bits of polyprop bolt them together ( clampholes) drill out the required hole size down the joint = jobs a bespoke good-un

HTHY :thumb2

Post saved for when i make my offer:augie
