Hi,
Can anyone help with this little problem. I have A Givi universal plate on my 1150GS. In June we are having a family trip to the Ardeche Region of France and my lad is taking his partner on his 650 GS. I want to change the plate over to his Gs so we can use my Givi Top box as a backrest. Can anyone help with a suitable fitting kit or photies of parts that i can make up? - I've been on the Givi website but doesn't really help unless I want to buy a full kit (preferably with their panniers as well!!):D

Hi,

Do you have the original BMW topbox carrier installed on the f650? If so you can bolt the Givi plate straight on to it using 3 bolts. The originally supplied Givi bolts are too small so you will need to get longer ones. Also you will have a bit of trouble to remove the seat in this configuration, however with a bit of ingenuity you might be able to rig up a pull line to make removing the seat.

Thanks for the reply. He doesn't have the original carrier installed. The previous owner made an aluminium plate designed to accommodate a large canvas holdall (with bungees!). I can get hold of one however and will adapt as you suggest.
Many thanks....
