I have recently purchased a Remus revolution y-piece and can to fit to my adventure. It didn't seam to fit correctly as it was catching the carriers for the aluminium luggage.
I contacted Remus who were so helpful but advised me that the system was not listed as fitting an adventure for this reason.

He went on to say that he had heard of mods to brackets etc being made by individuals (mainly in South Africa) so it would fit.

-----------Any ideas, anyone been their done that etc.---------

I had a Remus Revolution and Y-piece fitted to my Adventure by CW in Dorchester. The bracket sent with the can did not fit, so they spoke to Remus, who Knew about the problem and they then sent a new bracket! Since done another 8K with no hassel, but with a great soundtrack, less weight and more power! Hope this helps.

Remus

Fitted a Titanium Remus & Y-piece to my adventure when new last year and since bought the BMW Alu luggage system.

Had to loosen all the exhaust brackets & joints etc & "pull" the can in a little to avoid the gasses being fired directly onto the pannier frame, but that was all.

The frame gets a little sooty from the gas flow but not enough to damage the paintwork & all looks ok, not "twisted" or anything like that.

Hope that helps.

Cheers, Rick.

Just had my 03 adventure into Baldersons for the re-call on the rear brake line and the re-routing of the air sensor cable, whilst there got talked into buying (mug ?) the remus Y piece,no apparent fitting problems although I did retain the standard can

I've got an 1150 Remus fitted onto my Adventure -it bolted straight on but at a slight angle ( no one really notices it unless I point it out ). I've got a set of Verns panniers ( top pieces of kit :thumb) and had no problems fitting them after my Remus was in place. If there is a bracket that straightens up the Remus, I'd be interested getting one, as that tilt on the Remus bugs the hell out of me. I got my Y-piece from Sherlocks and I think it is a Remus but can't say for sure.

When CW fitted the Remus can with the new second bracket from Remus, there was no tilt. Though there was with the original sent by Remus. CW also put on a few washers as spacers. I've got the standard Ally panniers and the can fits fine, though they get gas marks on them, which you just wash off every now and then.

Speak to Remus.

Hope this helps.

Spacers...

was going to say the same, fit spacers and longer bolts to the left side.

Thanks Thanks Thanks

I have fitted a 15 mm aluminium spacer between the bracket and frame looks okay, took it for a run 100 miles and did not fall off, sounded great. Put paste on all the joins. Only concern is where the gases are hitting the back pannier frame it would appear to be leaving a bit of permanent damage. Hope it don't strip the coating off through time.

Thanks for the help and advise - do think its time Remus addresses the problem
