Typical! I was confusing $ and £ Sterling
My headlight issue might be the HID on dip but these will sort it out.

The T6 Leds are a touch less powerfull than the U2's, that's why I went for those.
My 1150 has a shite halogen H1 hi beam at the mo (just installing an HID fast ballast from Les Wassall). Without a really good hi beam the spots are a world away from where the bike was, good on a dark road up to 75ish very comfortably. The LED spots do tail off a little at distance though, so a good hi beam does help them.
Given the choice of good narrow beam hi beam or the spots I'd still choose the spots as they give great spread of light too which is very useful on a tight twisty road and it's only when the road is wide open bends that the lack of outright distance is noticable.
The gain I will get from the HID hi beam is about 10% of the effective light that I will use, 90% will be from the spots.
