Iv done some searching on the site and it seems (based on advice of The Mechanic) that you are best to use stainless steel clamps from M&P and forget the silicon sealant? This gives best fit and helps reduce the popping on overrun.

If people agree can you please tell an ignorant soul what size clamp to buy? Mr. Fastener stainless steel size 45 to 49mm? Do i need three?

thanks in advance.

When I fitted my Y peice I used the original fittings and exhaust paste to create a tight seal - no warlrus jokes please! No popping on overun, surging improved.

No problem with standard clamps

I only fitted my y piece to standard can a couple of weeks back & used original clamps. Used some copper grease on the front juctions with the header pipes & had to loosen the manifold studs to get a bit of movement in the pipes as the Remus Y was about a mm too narrow & had to "jiggle" it on, this was why I used the grease as it was still a bloody struggle to get them fully home. Did use silicone sealant for y to can joint, this went on a doddle & seems to have sealed fine as there's been only two or three "pops" that I've heard in the last 500 or so miles (used to get an occasional one with the cat fitted anyway) HTH
