New 1200gs arriving Thursay and I was thinking of fitting Adventure screen due to my portly 6'5".
What does it entail and what does it cost?
Any help please.
Thanks

There was a lengthy debate on this a while back - bottom line is about £300 or so quid. You need the screen, the support bar and a couple of extra long adjuster bolts - your dealer should know the score as a few folk did this.

I took the cheapskate option and got a wunderlich screen - better protection but lower quality for £160 inc front adjusting mounts.

I'd be a bit wary of jumping straight in and spending upwards of £300 on an Adventure screen. I'm 6'2" and my GS is also on order (no confirmed delivery date yet unfortunately - mid April quoted). I tried both the standard screen and an Adventure but frankly couldn't detect any significant difference. Admittedly I didn't have the time to 'tweak' the adjustment of the screen to any extent.

When my bike turns up I plan to see if the standard screen can be adjusted in conjunction with the seat height to achieve a resonable setting and maybe consider tobinators or a TT screen extender.

There is lots of info on alternative screens and adjustments elsewhere on this site. Try a search.

Good luck with it!

I replied to another thread 'NN High-Wide...' as I am also looking at a larger screen for my 05GS. 6'4" and a lot of wind noise. The problem is to know if the Adventure / other type larger screen will actually solve the problem. Same question as in the other thread: Does anyone have experience of a number of different screens to be able to comment on effectiveness and quality? There are a lot of options out there.

As said before there is a long thread on this but I paid £227 @ SLM for my kit to convert it but it was with the tinted screen which for some reason is a bit cheaper. :nenau

On my 04 GS I fitted a Secdem screen ( similar if not same as NN high and wide) and the NN winglets and it was great but fancied a change on the new bike

I took delivery of my new 08 GS week last Saturday, fitted with an Adventure screen. Compared to my ol GS I havent found that it offers any further protection than the standard screen..I'm not even that tall, 6ft. Moreover with the winglets, it is not adjustable fully upwards. Looks good tho!!

I put an adventure screen on my 08 GS. I mainly did it so that I could mount a GPS to the extra support bar that comes with the GS screen. I noticed that the adventure screen gives me a bit more wind protection than the standard screen on my old 05 GS. I think a lot depends on how you position the screen.
