My 30ltr tank is due back from the spray shop, are there any pit falls or enlightening bits of knowlage when it comes to swapping the tanks and tank hardware from the std to Adv tank (Filler etc).

It's a good idea to get a new gasket for the filler cap, I seem to remember reading. Get yourself some QD fasteners for the 2 fuel lines on the right hand side and a right angle one for the cross tube (these are std BMW fitments, so your dealer should be able to help). Fit the two QDs opposite ways round, so you can't mis-connect them. Use jubilee clips, not the POS crimp clips that BMW use......

I contacted SPC about swopping tanks etc on my standard GS. They told me that as well as the tank, I would require the Adv sender unit - an additional #116 + VAT.

Is this right? The touratech tank 41ltr states that the RID is un affected by the change and I assume that this includes the sender.
