Round 'n' round in circles.........
It arrived yesterday, looks very nice and is nicely made. Better still it matches the GSA....:D

But for the life of me, I cannot see how to remove the side pieces in orders to fit the Autocom speakers?

I have removed the inner headband and also the neck collar, but how do the two check sections come out?

It gives very little explanation in the handbook. :( So rather than start tugging at the lining and risk tearing something, I thought that I'd ask first?

But how the hell someone is going to explain it all in words so that I can understand it will amazing to be honest???

Still, there are some clever out there arnt there.....;)

Hi Alan

pm me your e.mail addy and I'll send you a PDF file with the full instructions and diagrams.

Should be on it's way, it got bounced back a couple of times so if you haven't got it by the time you read this let me know and I'll send it again.

Alan

there's a guide on the Autcom site.

When you've done yours you can then do mine:D :D

hmmmmmmmmmmmm............removed the two little side panels on either side, then removed the two Torx screws as described, then gently tugged at the cheek piece.....feckin solid.

Read instructions again.....

Have another gentle tug of the cheek pieces, still rock solid.......WTF?

I cannot see what is supposed to come apart.

Reassemble and try again another day  or on Ned Flanders which ever is the sooner. ;)

I found on mine that the lining of the cheek pieces was stuck to the shell as well as the cp. Just gently pull it away, it looks horrific when you do it but tuck it all back in when you put it back together and it sticks its self back into place. Mines done over 10,000 miles since I did it and it still looks like new.

Errr, did you remove a total of 4 Torx screws, 2 tiny ones and the two from under the bottom edge "panel". Mine came out with only the gentlest of persuasion. You're then faced with teasing the liner from the "pads".
I've now taken mine apart twice. At least everything goes back together nicely.

Good luck.

Alan

me again. Do you have the dimensions of the Autocom speakers to hand. I'm currently using the ones you recomended last year (thin, square jobbies from Rainbow BMW) however they're now next to useless so contemplating the Autocoms. However the Rainbows are far from comfortable, even having chopped them down from square to round. They may be thin but still press on the ear.
Could re-shape the C2 cut-outs praps.

Ta muchly.

Yes, I did remove a total of four Torx screws, two from each side under the tiny covers.

Where are these ones under the bottom edge "panel" then.

They arn't mentioned in those instructions??

As for the size of the Autocom speakers, I havent taken the old ones out of the Tour-X yet! But when I have I'll let you know.

SOk there are only 4 to remove. When I said "bottom edge "panel" Iwas referring to your statement hmmmmmmmmmmmm............removed the two little side panels on either side, then removed the two Torx screws as described

Sorry for any confusion.

I think you've just got to use a little more "force" to seperate the cheek pads from the shell. I seem to remeber one of mine being much more solid than tother.

Let me know when you break something

Kind regards

Tim

All sorted...............

Firstly, take a short ride up to Autocom in Warwick,

Hand helmet over to a very nice man,

Make a cuppa, and then take a seat and wait 10 mins or so,

Nice man returns with headset fitted,

No charge, enjoy gentle ride back home.....easy!

I don't know what I was worrying about really!
