Ok, so thought I'd document my cast wheel conversion...
I have a 2003 1150 GS and bought second-hand 2003 1150 RT wheels.
I also bought an RT speedo drive, new RT rear wheel bolts and new front and rear break disc bolts all from Motorworks (who I must say have been very helpful!) - But that's it - the discs and ABS rings from my original GS wheels fitted straight on the cast RT wheels... but here's how I did it...
(important note - get yourself a service manual and make sure you re-attatch all bolts to their correct torque value!)
Ok, so I got enthusiastic and forgot to take photos at this point, but basically after removing the original GS wheel, use a T40 torx bit to remove the bolts holding on the ABS ring and break disc, then attatch them straight onto the new cast RT wheels
Right...
Now the front wheel...
All done!
Now I know how to use a screw-driver, have 3 different hammers and even have mu own tool box, but I'm no 'mechanic' - however having taken lots of advice from this site, gotten myself a service manual, a 'stripped-torx-bolt-removal-favour' from my local tyre fitter and taken everything else very slowly I managed to do it all myself, so I hope my experience helps someone else!
