So here's a mad one.

Has anyone ever fitted regular telescopic forks to a 2002 (or of that ilk) GSA.

If they are good enough for the HP2....

Had a few searches on the forum but couldnt find anything.

Tnx, Mike

A friend, Pat Keenan, made up a small front sub-frame to take a conventional set of forks a few years ago and Paul Blezard of this parish road the bike in a number of Trail Bike Rallies. Don't know what became of it.

You would need a new front subframe for a start. There isn't a proper headstock and not enough frame existing to get one in there. Maybe you could graft an HP2 frame in there? All that said I have heard a few uncomplimentary things about the HP2 forks. Personally no idea as I have never even seen one never mind driven one.

I reckon you should try an F800GS front end. You know, upper & lower yolks, spindle with bearings, both forks, best get the brakes and wheel, along with the discs and tyre, and perhaps a mudguard. That should do for a start.

Then you'll need a F800GS frame & engine, probably a fuel tank and fuel injection system to fit the frame, and a swinging arm to do the same, plus a rear wheel to match.

You could also try some bespoke bodywork and an exhaust system but that might be OTT.

I look forward to seeing the pictures. :thumb

take the best bit of the 1150 and replace with the most failure prone bit of the HP2...

hmmmmmm

That makes the oil head BM's so good IMHO

Several threads on Advrider.com fitting various tele's to 1150's. Sorry haven't got time to search for a link

Here you go, http://www.bakker-framebouw.nl/produ...es/bmw?lang=en

Truly beautiful. Totally unaffordable.

Finding Blezards old steed and doing a deal might be a more realistic route. Anyone got any clues. Is he on the forum?

Looks like a set of used Ohlins for now. Anyone got any good ones for a 2002GSA.
