I've purchased a nice pair of front LED indicators but when looking to fit them I can't see the connector on the std indicators. They seem to be hard wired into the harness.

Anyone have any idea if/where the connector is before I start opening up the harness?

Don't know what year you have but the connectors are taped to the supporting frame on my 09. You do know they won't work unless you get the ZF unit reprogrammed or use resistors?

I just bought the later model led inserts/light board and clear lenses for mine and just wired them in, 08 onto an 06, they worked fine,

Not sure...Are the connectors not inside the indicator body itself?

For my 07 GS I was told you need an adapter plug thingy (£15 each) but not sure if you need to cut the existing wires or not. Also you do need to get the computer programmed.

I think it depends on the age of the bike. My 800ST came with incandescent indicators (LEDs were an extra-cost option). I bought an upgrade kit from my dealer some months later, which came with the adaptor cables mentioned above. As it turned out, mine (2009 800ST) already had the correct push-fit connectors so I didn't need the adaptor cables at all. The LED indicators worked properly without any adjustment to the bike's computer.

08 onwards don't need the adaptors. Mine is an 08 which is why I have a set of adaptors I don't need :blast

Yes I have a 07 and you do need an adaptor so no reprogramming. I bought a set of connector clips that much the ones on the bikes wiring so did not have to cut the originat connectors and reverse the process if need be.

TTBOMK the adaptor cables have nothing to do with the computer needing reprogramming - they are simply there to make the electrical connection (the LED indicators come fitted with a two-pin push-together, weather/water resistant connector, as do the later incandescent indicators). My understanding is that on later (2008-on) bikes, the computer "sees" the LED indicators and adjusts itself accordingly.

Thanks for all the info, much appreciated.

Seahorse, I've pm'd you re the connectors.
