Well, that was a fun weekend, with some 'firsts' thrown in for good measure. The challenge: to fit a Migsel mount, Autocom and BMW fog lights to my 1150 GSA. I had everything planned, including printed instructions and advice from this site ...
You might want to look at putting the GPS wiring under the clocks deflector (silver shield above clocks), it can then drop down to a power point around that area and means no wires show.
Top man! I'm finally hard-wiring my autocom to my 1150GSA this week and those pics are a real help.
Sounds like a good idea. I'm guessing it'd require drilling a hole somewhere to run the wires through?
Hi,
Well, congratulations! You managed to put the autocom where I tried with no success.
I will just try the configuration you used, well done mate.
Did you try conecting the GPS to your autocom? You may get a buzzzzzzzz. If you do, PM and I will tell you what I have done to fix it (annoyingly, against GSRich recommendations).
Cheers
Thanks. I've tried the GPS through the Autocom and it worked. However, the bike wasn't running (not sure if that could make a difference?). I've heard of this problem though (buzzing issue), so in anticipation have fitted the Autocom part number 1285 into the GPS feed (you can see the red box under the diagnostic plug on the picture). I'll shout if there's still an issue - many thanks.
Let me know if more pictures would help. I took quite a few, including taking the tank off etc which was the first time I'd done this on an 1150.
Here you go. The wiring just drops down behind the clocks.
