Have the worshop and maintenance manuals but can anyone tell me an easy procedure for replacing the front brake hose which runs down between the forks to the caliper.

The manuals only refer to changing fluid not the hoses themselves. The hose got trapped between the fork and the HardPart and split.

Also, the idle speed has dropped to 600 so therefore stalls the bike. Don't have access to the right tool here in Kathmandu ( I think) to synchronize the throttle bodies so are there any other fixes or ideas?

I'm going on the basis of a non ABS 1150 here but it should be easy enough. Drain brake system, undo banjo bolts, remove old brake hose, replace with new one, refit banjo bolts and re-fill / bleed brank system. If it's an ABS one then you're in for a nasty surprise.

A rough and ready way of adjusting the throttle bodies is to look at them and, with a closed throttle / throttle advance, adjust them at the throttle bodies until they are just touching the stoppers then tighten the lock nut. Don't alter the idle stoppers first as this will throw the whole idea out of the window. That should do you until you can get the right tool or get to someone who does.

I changed all my 1100abs hoses last week, and was absolutely dreading it.

However, I took my time, and bled the system from handlebars to abs unit and then abs unit to calipers.

Then wait overnight to let it settle and bleed it again. Only had one of those pipes with a split in to bleed it.

All went OK........

Best of luck :thumb

Sorry - it's ABS. Forgot to mention it.

Ta for the info - I'll get onto it.
