Fitting Ohlins to a R1200GS

After doing some additional soul-searching and discussing the shorter shocks with the supplier, I have decided to change the order to the standard length units. I sure hope the bike doesn't sit any higher with these installed.

I know myself well enough that even if the pegs didn't hit often I'd be thinking about it all the time which would effect my riding. I have that problem with the FJR. I removed the peg feelers and the pegs still hit. It is very unnerving to have them start dragging in the middle of a corner when you still have a bit of leaning to do. I hate that

Did the wood bit tonight after work, 20mm bits of plywood under the wheels and BINGO back to normal :D so it would seem i only need to remove 20mm from the stand legs. Will keep you in the know, but how the hell do you remove the stand?? i just can not move those 6mm Allen bolts.

Help again

Stand sorted :D removed the stand and ground the welds from the cast pivot thingies and removed them, chopped 20mm from the legs and welded up.
Test fit to bike perfect :D
Now i have been at the return springs all afternoon, tried the nylon string and the proper spring puller, the coin trick want work cos it has double springs one inside the other and i can not bend it enough to open the coils to fit coins in. :(

Any other thoughts gents???
