Fitting Road 2 Visability LED Headlights.

Mine arrived yesterday - quick question because the fitting instructions on the site are a bit open to interpretation !
It mentions the LEDs can be fitted horizontally or vertically - saying they should be fitted horizontally - my take on this is that the LED chips should sit north-south in the headlamp. (I know the main & dip beam orientation of the H7 bulbs are different & there's an extra plastic mount to allow fitting of the LEDs either north-south or east-west.)

What have you guys done ?

Take a look at pic six at the start of this thread that may give you a clue about what i did. I cant remember tbh lol

LED in Dip

Thanks Del
The pic shows how I've fitted the LED - the chips are pointing east west. It sure is bright - need to try it in the dark later.

I fitted mine East/West horizontal as per instructions although not sure what difference it makes?????

Has anyone tried them fitted both ways to see what differences it makes. Dip beams often look brighter at the top of the reflector as lights is reflected down to the road. So the LED horizontal (emitters facing up and down) probably names most sense for dip beam. Main beam might not care either way.

That looks like north south to me :nenau

Look again the photo is the wrong way round in his post,

The instructions on mine that I fitted to my tl said to fit east west, mine are H4 so had to be fitted north south so that the lights worked properly, the H4 has an led on the top for low beam and 2 on the bottom for hi beam, there's no way they would work properly if fitted as the instructions said.

Right way up

Yes the photo was rotated - here it's right way up I hope;

Gaz i fitted mine n/s and they work fine. Mind you they are H7s so are separate bulbs.

Went out to try the LED dip beam last weekend - very bright but also lit up the faces of drivers of oncoming cars, just when they were about 3m in front of the bike. So there was clearly intense light being spilled to the offside, albeit only at close quarters. I never got flashed though.
So I've now rotated the LED so the chips are north/south. When it gets above freezing, I'll try it & report.

H7 LED

Decided to revert to H7 halogen as probably selling my GS shortly - just about to advertise my LED kit on Parts for Sale - £45 delivered UK.
