hi this might be the stupidest question but i got a second hand set of vario panniers for my 1200gs and i can not get them to sit in the holders when the mushroom is in place.
if i screw the mushroom out completely the panniers sit in place but ever with the mushroom screwed to the very bottom it seems to push the panniers out at a funny angle and i can only get one hook to fit in the holder.
i have tried adjusting the mushrooms every way possible but the panniers will only line up when it is out completely.
am i a total muppet or whats the story.thanks:confused::confused::confused:

Only guessing here, but you do know that you have to open the latch mechanism which closes round the "mushroom", don't you?

yes i have opened the latch and when i have the mushroom head locked in place the pannier only lines up on one side

Another silly question then.......you are opening the latch at the bottom of the pannier as well??

Sorry, just in case you hadn't dealt with them before. Mine sit over all three locators (mushroom bolt and both hooks) perfectly, just drop the pannier on, close the latch and side catch, sorted. :thumb

THATS THE PROBLEM cannot get the pannier to sit over more than one hook and the mushroom or two hooks when the mushroom is removed,i said it might seem a silly question

What you're saying sounds quite strange. Why not post some pictures?
