I've just had my Alloys re-powder coated..

I need to re-fit the bearings in the front wheel now which seems straight forward enough looking at the CD Rom manual...

However, I seem to have two spacers/washers with a lipped inside edge that I can't figure where to fit...

Got the two bearings (in the freezer as we speak), the Tube that sits between them, the speedo drive pick up and the rubber(?) seal and circlip...

Where do the washers go?

Any advice oot there please..?

Er.......Mike......those cupped washers (dust caps) might not be yours......Gareth just gave me a handful of bits which were lying around.........when I collected your wheels.....he didn't strip the wheels down himself, so was clueless.....

Got a feeling thay might be from the airhead alloys he was doing...............

Anyway, it's customary to have bits left over......

Hi George,

I guess you could be right here....I'll try to put things back without and see if the wheel wobbles........:P

They are Black again, but even "Blacker" than before....:D

note to self........always strip the wheel bearings out and keep all the bits to avoid confusion - and powder coaters belting seven bells out of the bearings..... :D

Not a very durable finish Mike.
Louise powder coated herself when she came out of the bath last night. It rubbed off in seconds ...... all over me hands it is.

I guess you're right MM, but last time they did them, they took the bearings out and put them back...this time,......

Anyway, I've got new bearings just in case they used an AF Hammer instead of a Metric one.....;)
