Five days in Scotland

This site came with the added luxury of a picnic table in situ. We were pretty high up, so was a bit colder, but no rain & blue skies. Usual drill, tents up & food prepped

What type of stove is that?Loving your blog reminds me of my trips to Scotland, My son is in Scotland (in the Loch Leven / Fort William area riding his pre 65 trials bike as I type this reponse. Thank you for posting this ride report.
 
Turned off at Whistlefield & followed another un-named road up & over to Ardentinny on the Loch Long shore. From here it's south along the shore which links into the A880 & back onto the A815 to Dunoon for the ferry back.

Continued south to Irvine on the A78, then inland via the A76 to Drumfries where we (after a weather check) booked a B&B.
Good call as it lashed down during the night.
 
Thursday 26th
After breakfast it was time to go our separate ways. The rain had eased off thankfully.
I headed off along the A75 & then the A712 at Crocketford

Continued to New Galloway, then south on the A762 alongside Loch Ken

A right onto an un- named road at Laurieston

Continued to Gatehouse of Fleet
 
At Gatehouse of Fleet its a right into the B796 & into Creetown. Onward to Newton Stewart via the A75, then the National cycle route 7 along the river Cree up to Glentrool

Great report guys, beautiful pictures of the areas natural beauty.

The decathlon looks a worthy bit of kit, providing a good heat source and by the looks of it you ate well.
 
Was up in the Galloway forest just last weekend, so know a lot of those places from then and previous visits.

Took this picture on Saturday as we crossed the Raders road . . .

Spookily I also know the small road you took to your 2nd camping site. Scotlands getting smaller for me ;)

What a great trip and write up. You were lucky with the weather, I doubt I'll be as lucky this coming Thursday, I've got four nights in Crieff doing the Cloverleaf routes.

Reminds me I need to get back down to S and SW Scotland.
