start with tank size, brakes, lithium battery, rear light, quiet engine, weave at 140 with bags (or an old bag) and you won't go far wrong.

Don't forget that "all 1200's are gutless" and that telescopic forks (RS) are crap and don't work oh, and how you can feel the frame flexing on all WC1200/250 bikes when accelerating hard out of corners! (including the "gutless" 1200s); centre stands which are ground away to nothing as they contact the ground..and............blah blah blah . Deffo a semi literate troll with ADHD.

Zoltan my dealer got his demo so soon we will find out if the new 1300 is fun enough to spend a lot of dough despite its apparent flaws…But first they have to rerelease a topcase that will stay on top…While the mounting plate is already promising as it is not solid mounted but seem to be able to move a couple of inches vertically in order not to induce the dreaded high speed wobble ? We will find out soon I hope !

I hate that BMW no longer supplies service manuals. No way will I buy a new BMW motorcycle.

I was going to ask the question, what page is it in the BMW Motor Bible? Really, no manuals? what is that.

Of course you can do an easy U turn by dragging the rear brake on your RT as I can on my 1250 because it does not apply the front brakes as it does on the 1300 except if you put it in Enduro Pro mode…

BMW discontinued the sale of service manuals in 2021.

For most of its history BMW Motorrad made service information available. This enabled owners and independent techs to undertake most service and repair procedures themselves. For many doing one's own maintenance is a valued part of the motorcycle ownership experience. For others, who live far from the nearest BMW dealership or who embark on a great adventure to remote places, doing it yourself is the only option.

Similarly independent techs having service information give greater choice to those who don't want to DIY.

All that changed in 2021 when BMW discontinued the provision of service information on ALL bikes old and new. Only bootleg copies of factory service manuals are available now. Haynes/Clymer/Chilton haven't produced a BMW motorcycle manual since 2018.

If you own one of the most recent models you are totally out of luck.

More and more in North America we hear that BMW dealerships will not service bikes older than 10 years. When you combine the absence of service information with the unavailability of dealer service it does not bode at all well for the resale value of recent BMW bikes.

Fortunately there are quality alternative motorcycle manufacturers out there still offering service manuals.

Whats worse than no service manuals they stopped selling touch up pens because of our communist regulations…Back in the old days when I bought a new BMW I got the matching touch up pen to keep it nice ! A tool kit was part of the package too as also a 24 liter tank…That was actually before my time

Actually my first BMW a 1987 R100GS had a 24 liter tank and my buddies R100GS P/D 35 liters…Hey BMW whats up with that having 151 instead of 58 horses but making the trough 5 liters smaller…️
