Flag Stickers for Panniers

Stickers....does one from the dentist count. :D

The latter for sure…

I’m not so sure.

The panniers and the stickers live on for new adventures. Some fading or being covered with new stickers, building a record of time spent, like the rings on a tree.

A bike I was very interested in had the panniers covered in stickers. The sales man though removing them would leave visible marks on the aluminium panniers. I didn’t buy the bike. I do tend to remove all stickers from my vehicles. I know where I’ve been and have no need to show this to others.

My bikes covered in Scottish flags, Rampate Lions, and midgie's blood, got the little fookers :green gri

Tip: When in Scotland, wear a Scottish flag sticka somewhere on your bike, car, van, thick locals bent on trouble tend to avoid other Scots showing their Saltire. :flag

Ive got stickers on the Varios, Two reasons, 1) Reminds of places ive been, and brings back memorys , good & bad lol 2) Hides the dents and scrapes

The other bike , probably not

You wouldn’t want to inherit the notches on somebody else’s bed post. IMHO bike stickers fall into the same category.

As expected....some interesting posts :D

My plan was/is to get a sheet of Euro flags and apply them after I return from said country. Why? Just for me to remind me of the great times I have had riding in the various countries.

Would it not be better to stick all the flags on and then cross them out, as you visit? It sets more of a target. For instance, this flag might bug at you, until you went:

When I go on long, multi-country trips I put the flag sticker for each country on my panniers before I go and blank them all out with Duck tape. As we cross each border, I reveal the next sticker.

That way they all look nice and neat and consistent but I don’t cheat by showing stickers for places I haven’t been.

Some of my biker mates think it’s an excellent approach. Other consider me to be a heretic who should be burned..

Reading this thread, I've realised my life is actually rather exciting.
