I am just replacing (removing) the flapper exhaust valve on my 2013 GSA with a Wunderlich by pass pipe. Can you get away with disconnecting the wiring going into the flapper valve control box and taping it up? Or will it throw up a fault code? Or is it best to remove the control cables and leave the box in place with the wring plugged in?

just tape it up,it will record a code on the ecu memory but it will not put a warning lamp on the dash.

Hi David, I just disconnected the cables from the box and sealed the hole with a small rubber grommet then left it all in place.
The weight of the housing is negligible so I left it in place with the wires still connected. The bike doesn't notice it's gone and only shows a fault when it's plugged in to a GS911. :thumb2

Thanks all. I have disconnected the cables and left the wiring intact. All back together with my rather stunning GPR end can.......ready to rock :)

You can unplug the motor and put it away safe. The ECU will log a fault but nothing negative happens.
