After riding a block from my house the "Brake Failure" flashes on the screen.
"No biggie"....as in the past I just turned off the key, waited a minute and restarted the bike, like in the past with other Oilheads. Thinking it might have been caused by "lo battery voltage". Continue about 1 mile and again the "Brake Failure" flashes. Within 3 blocks,I arrive at my destination and turnoff bike. 15 minutes later I return to the bike, startup and precede on my way home. No more "flash/warnings".........
My 600 mile checkup was due anyway so I deceided to wait until the appointment/visit before reporting the *Brake Warning/Flash* to the Dealer.
600 mile checkup is performed and all is Good! :D
Service writer explains that the "stored failure code" showed as "excessive pressure" in the braking system. :nenau
I told him about the repeated "Flash" and what I did to clear or solve the problem.
Dealer "service writer" claims the 1200 CANbus electrical braking system is totally different from the older Oilheads, and that the off again-on again bike starting doesn't do anything, like when the older Oilheads had "lo-voltage" and sent ABS flashing light codes. "Oh well, all is still fine",just curious as to what it was.....hmmmmm...<excessive pressure>...thats a new one....
Neither him nor I had ever heard such a thing before. hmmmmmm :nenau
Anyway,bike runs great an smooth.
Hopefully after these adjustments/checks by the Dealer, all stays the same if not better.
Other than that everything else is fine, bike runs like a raped Ape!!. :thumb
So far no complaints, just praises!!! :clap

ABS/Servo Failure

I collected my GS on Friday after its 12k service. Ran OK on Saturday. Monday, the quick flashing brake warning came on when I started the bike to go to work. Checked the handguard that it did not touch the break lever and checked the rear bulb - all in order. By now it was 8am so got hold of the dealer who said I should bring it in if I felt up to it, otherwise a pickup could be arranged.

Got back to the bike and turned the ignition key - slow flashing warning light - I am starting to feel happier! Fired the start button - bingo fast flashing warning light is back on. Carefully got on to the A3 and a few miles further, the warning light has gone off and I can feel the servos have gone on again. Turned off the A3, stopped, switched off. Switched on again, bingo fast flashing warning again. This time it stayed on until just outside Guildford when the brakes started to work again. Fortunately the technicians at Vines could replicate the fault even though their magic computer diagnostic could not pick up what was wrong. The upside was that I tested the new Adventure out!

The conclusion later in the day was that there was a crytical fault in the ABS and a new ABS system has been ordered from Germany. This is now the 4th week on a loan bike (incidentally, this is a brand new GS but the gear indicator has gone totally out of sync with the gearbox!) Hope I get my GS back soon otherwise I will have to demand a trade in on a new Adventure!

Hope you get you bike sorted.

Follow up on my bike....."Brake Failure" did come on again around 700 miles after the 600 Dealer checkup/service.
I deceided to see what would happen if I applied the brakes suddenly.
The bike would stop then go and then stop, like the brakes were catching then releasing then catching again, like how the ABS works only at a much slower pace.
I again stopped completely, turned off the bike, then restarted the bike and rode the 80 miles home with no incident..

Now,I have put 200 miles on it since this second occurance of the "Brake Failure" warning and so far so good. Haven't notified the Dealer yet, cuz work has me getting home late and they're closed.
I'll just ride the bike a little longer and see if it shows up again.
