Flashing odeometer

Bought an 800gs with a flashing odeometer, seller said it needed the service reminder re-setting. Had the bike serviced by an independant who reset the service reminder but was unable to set the odeometer (still flashing), took it to another independant who said the same - both mechanics said the odeometer was out by around 100 miles with the main computer??

Anyone have any useful information before I have to get a main dealer to look at it for £70 - I suspect it will be plug in, press a few buttons and away you go for them.

Not a lot of help to your snag but I have a GS911 and the odometer reading it displays has always matched that on the bikes odometer.
