battery

Mine is the same,if I leave it more than two weeks in this weather without having it plugged in to the optimate the clock alone is enough to run it down.So if you have an alarm as well and you don't keep it charged it will be flat in no time, how old is the battery?.Once they are drained flat I have found they are never really the same again.I'll be replacing mine after the winter with a hawker gel battery, much better 'so they say' and not much difference in price compared to b*w.Andy

Yes it is the battery - don't panic , just charge the thing up and it should be fine. I still have the original battery in my 1999 1100GS and 58000 kms and only after a long period of non-use during very cold weather last winter did it let me down. After a good overnight charge it was fien again. If you are only getting a couple of weeks before it goes flat I think it's time to invest in a new battery - the warning signs are clear and better do it sooner than later because it will die on you when you really least want it to......Law of Sod chapter 2 section 3a :D

the fact that it appears to lose water is a sign of battery failure (or overcharging. unlikely)

...

charged it twice overnight

and nothing

left it running today for about 3 hours and nothing went into battery cos turned it off and immediately on and click brrrrrrrr...........

f^%*&%in thing

its going in to bwm tomorrow so new battery i think

halfords didnt have any in the humungous size that it seems to be

got the same problem with mine and am organising a battery on tuesday when bitza bikes opens (for the 1st time after the new year) barry quoted me £30 for a Y60 or £80 for an all sing all dancing one.

£30............. thats the one for me.

if you're not buying a hawker battery then i'd recommend asking for a YUASA rather than the cheaper YuMicron.
Better amp ratings and longer lasting - IMO

BM's are probably Varta's - which are ok but they overprice them - No, really ?
