Flat battery

Ok something is very wrong.
So iv charge the battery up again to full power unhooked anything that was plugged in and took the sat nav off.

Left it for a day to find the battery completely flat won't start the bike.

I turn the ignition off for half hour went back to see if the hella socket was still live and sure enough it was still powered on.

Normally this turns off.

Very confused it's less than two years old it's going back to the dealers as this shouldn't be happening.

2014 GSA.

My battery HAS run down when, a) I've left the ignition on or b) the override power button I fitted to my PDM60 was left on. I was surprised how little time it took to lower the voltage to where it couldn't start the bike.

After the battery ran down the first time, I did get a CTEK charger with a "comfort" charging pig-tail. The charging point has 3 lights which indicates the battery condition, which is very reassuring.

I'm looking into an Odyssey battery (an excellent product I fitted to a previous bike) or a lithium battery to give more spare capacity.

Hi Smithy , obvious qiestion, does the bike start with a charged battery ?
It may seem odd but the system needs to see zero volts, have you disconnected the battery ?
If not disconnect it for a few minutes then re connect the fully charged battery,,
This is a common issue with can systems that manage power in vehicles, generally lack of use weak or user drained,
a battery re set re starts the system, assuming you have app 12.5 volts+
Batteries can die without notice,,,the lower voltage can affect the can shutting down,
Assuming you have no wired in additions, it should be shutting down as others have mentioned,

Hi roamer

Well I disconnected the battery and charged it to full again.
Checked it with a multimeter and it was showing 12.60v
I left it for a day checked it again and was showing 12.30.

Hooked it on the bike and turn the ignition on. It dropped to about 11.30 then steadied out at 12.20v

Started engine drop to 9.65v then jumped to 14.20 so battery to me seems fine.

But also as per your advice because I disconnected it, it must have reset as now the son socket is turning off correctly.

Maybe it was a case of turning it off and on again.

So far seems to be holding at 12.30v

I wonder what happened
To make the system fault
Like that.
