You could try parralleing it up with another battery whilst on the charger but Id say the cell have gone below economical recovery

Your probably right, ive just been out now, i put it back on the optimate at 9 this morning, and its still charging -

So that's 11 hours and still not into the discharge / charge check - my money is on fubarred -

Enlighten me, cos it was shit to get out lol

From memory it involved tipping the battery up a bit and sliding it in or out with a screwdriver under to tilt it. Don’t hold me to that though. Its a while since I had to do it.

Just fitted a new car battery (bought from tayna https://www.tayna.co.uk/ ) - seems the lockdown is not helping batteries. may be a good time to buy shares in the battery industry! Tayna are a great source for batteries, good prices and speedy delivery
I've had the charger out the last 48 hours, charging all batteries in the household just to be sure

Definitely a new battery there are too many electromagical things that may be damaged by current surge etc
