Has anyone tried these on a GSA? Mine is the tappet type pre twin cam.

I'm fed up with sore thumbs on long rides so need bars with a reduced sweep angle. I could go for some rental Fat bars but considering taking the chance to fit some Fasstco Flexx handlebars that absorb road vibration and may help with engine vibes.

Has anyone tried them on the GSA. If so which model were they?

Sorry havent used them Bendy, but what is the issue your having is it white finger issue on long runs??

The reason i ask is that on my previous GS i suffered from this issue and it turned out to be something with the bike, now im not saying you go out and sway your bike but what im suggesting is that maybe a tune up of the bike will sort your issue. My new bike is so much smoother than the previous one which makes me think something was just not right with the last bike. So my thinking is that maybe a retune and balance of your bike may do the same thing and simply smooth out your machine.

With the new bike i dont need my rox anti vibe risers its as sweet as a nut, hundreds of miles in one sitting with no problems whatsoever.

Just a suggestion like.

These do look nice though.

Thanks
Mark

Mine has fully balanced throttles (better at low revs)
Good clean plugs fairly new stainless case coils and recently set tapper clearances. It also has a power commander 5. The grips have 3mm sorbothane sheet under snooker cue heat shrink rubbers.
Maybe it's a Friday afternoon bike but vibes are much the same as they have always been. Not bad at all for a short run but nasty for all day.
I don't get white finger but fingers can be buzzing days after a long ride. The Diversion 900 was awful until I fitted Rox anti vibe risers then no problems.
The same Rox on the GS stop the vibes only when vertical; they were leaned back nearly flat on the 900. Vertical Rox makes the bars too high for me.
I need to sort out the nasty (for me) bar sweep angle and cut the vibes. My options are Fasst bars with Fasst dampers (many £££s but should solve problem.
or
Renthals with Fasst dampers in the ends much lower cost but could be around £120 all in and still might not solve the issues.
Before shelling out either way I really need more info.

I was (before crashing GS) considering trying something like the Rox or these bars, where's a copy product when you need it ? for what they are price is high then again maybe the sell only a few compared to ridgids, but if they work could be a godsend.
Was getting slight wrist aches after 2-3 hours & hands could feel a buzz after long days gone after a good rest though, different story on my XT but then I ride it like I stole it plus don't do more than half hour rides :green gri

You need to try see if you can find a s/h pair or bite the bullet & shell out its the only way you'll know.

A bit more info.
Cole from Fasstco came back. The Flexx bars are excellent on the GS for absorbing road vibration and hammer. But as the engine vibrates horizontally they don't stop much engine vibe. A very honest answer I thought. The engine vibes improve with his mass dampers in the bar ends.
The shock and vibe absorbing carbon fibre bars are by Twisted Engineering but cost about same as Fasst Flexx bars. They could be the perfect solution but $300 plus plus etc is a lot to risk.
I've got a totally experimental idea to rubber mount the bars without jacking them up like Rox risers do.

A much cheaper alternative which may suit is to add padding to the grips, not everyones cup of tea but it works for me and I've got small hands. I tried grip puppy's first, OK, but started to tear after a few 1k miles. I've now got the neoprene ones from Nippy's, can't remember the name. Once you get used to the oversize grips I find they cut vibes to the hands really well, an added bonus is it's easy to twist the throttle to the stop without having to adjust your hand position. Maybe worth a punt??

I have some 3mm sorbothane wrapped around the grips with heat shrink sleeve over the top. It's helped but not enough. Its also exaggerated the effects of the large sweep angle on my thumb joints.

I believe the problem has two parts - reduce the bar's sweep angle with new bars AND reduce the vibes by some other means.

Thicker Sorbo is worth a try (two or thee layers, different grades, etc) but that will probably mean dumping the heating elements.

I'm the opposite I cannot stand thick grips nice wide but thin sticky rubber is fine, that OEM bend is awful not as bad as some bikes Iv owned more often than not changed to renthals on jap bikes, the windham bend bars I used on my GS where alloy it's quite astonishing the weight difference too !

I didn't have to mod the Touratech faring on last GS but did take a bit off a screen on 1st one to fit them, why BMW persist in making shit seats & handlebars on a bike supposed to be good for round the world touring :blast it isn't just me that thinks so ....

Iv only ever used single wall renthals £40-50 the windham bend bars where from eBay about £28 can't remember make, will post a link unless you look at threads here all info was posted up with pics.

Thanks I had a look.
Renthal fat bars are from £50, parallel 7/8" around £30. I also found a twin wall for £70 considerably less than link above.
But apart from bling could it be too stiff? I have no idea if a single wall being less rigid softens or amplifies any vibration.

Went through 3 different bend sets of Renthal Fatwall bars trying to get over a similar problem on my 2011 bike.

When I got the bend right and it was comfortable I found out the reason that BMW use that particular bend on the bike from new , ie the hand controls hit he screen at about 2/3 lock if the bars haven't got he sweep at the ends .

Cured by putting bar risers on the bike

So it's not the same bend angle they've used on every GS since the early 1980s or before?.

I'm looking at a rubber mounted plate on the forks top with lowered bar clamps on top. The clamps might need to be up/back risers so I might need a flat (not fat) bar to avoid them being too high.

The controls didn't hit my Touratech faring but I trimmed a small bit off my vario screen,OEM screen flexes about reason they eventually get cracks on mounts.
