flip front helmet recommendations

there was an odd pressure point on the forehead - heard others say the same.

Oh, I thought that was just me, I have found by pressing the foam where the pressure point is I have been able to allevaitte the problem.

I wanted a Neotec, but it looks like the chin strap is the same for all lids, I tried an XS helmet on and even with the chin strap fully tightened it was still loose otherwise I would have bought one.

Went for the C3 as it seemed the next best lid, and one criteria I did have was decent speaker pockets, many helmets seem to make no allowance for these which rules them out.

The Shark looked nice enough, but did not "feel" as high quality as the Schuberth or Shoei (then again it is about half the price)

You'll struggle to better the Shoei Neotec :beerjug:

I've only had my Neotec for three weeks but two of those were a trip to Norway during which I struggled not to be deafened at speed without the chin guard and struggled to see anything at slower speeds with the chin guard in if it was raining. The chin guard is a PITA if you've got a mic boom as well. It's generally a comfortable helmet and the sun visor is great. Can't see it being much good as a winter commuter lid though so it looks like I'll need to buy something else as well which makes it even more expensive. Can't say I'd recommend one at the moment but perhaps I'll get used to it :(

I like my Shark Evoline for day to day use.

And 'cos my head's the right shape, use the C3 for 2 up touring. The SRC system on ours works well for about 6 hours and the visors only leak when not closed properly. A big plus is the Pinlock inserts. May have been lucky tho' looking at other replies on here. :nenau

I would never again buy a schuberth, completely over rated crap, I have c3 ... Visor leaks, draughts , vents break and absolute rip off I previously had an Hjc which was a 1/4 of the price and none of these issues. I was fooled by the hype utter crap!!!

Helmet

I have a Lazer Carbon Monaco Flip front helmet which is advertised as one of the lightest flip up helmets on the market, it is very comfortable to wear has a pinlock system fitted has good ventilation (never misted up a tall) it is the best helmet I have owned by a long shot, had a small problem with it when it was delivered and Lazer's head office was very quick to get it sorted. The only thing I would change with it if I could is the chin bar is quite close to your chin which makes wearing a microphone unit quite close to your mouth, but you soon get used to it small price to pay for such a comfortable helmet.
