No, of course you don't. Nor do you need to wear an Arai Tour-X, a Shoei Hornet or one of the cheaper adventure style helmets which many GS riders wear.

Wear something that fits, is comofrtable, as quiet as possible and preferably not too garish. I prefer white lids as I think they make you a bit more visible to myopic drivers. They might even mistake you for a copper and take even more notice. *Shock-horror*......:eek

Wear what fits... wear what feels good. I find Schuberth heavy and fits like crap... So I don't buy them. But they're super popular in the touring scene for a reason, so maybe that's your bag.

I wear Scorpion EXO-1100 Helmets. Light, comfortable, excellent in the Upright | 3/4... Integrated sun visor. I wear it on my Harley, Vespa, and RSV, now I wear it on my GSA. Go to a Motorcycle show/shop and try on EVERYTHING. There are lots of different shapes and features out there.

Never mind Centurion helmets , prefer my old Kangol Gladiator or its much newer replacement a Griffin Clubman CD (mesh vents in the visor. ..... pure class).

I must have tried 20 different helmets at the shop, found an AGV that was comfortable and ticked all the boxes I was looking for, just so happens I wanted flip front but that's nothing to to with owning a GS,

The old saying, a £10 helmet for a £10 head. I wear a flip top 1, because I like to ride with it open most of the time and 2, you can be given mouth to mouth resuscitation with out taking the helmet off.:thumb2
