Noticed this today? And first time I've noticed that little engineered hole on the left side of the engine. It looks like radiator fluid. Any ideas?

Cheers

Hi -there's lots on here about this. Either it'll stop or you'll need a new water pump seal

Thanks Dr Rich. Maybe excess water as I did top up to between marks after previous trip. Hasn't done it since new, so it must be the top up. Fingers crossed. Ta.

dont worry about it for the moment, its the water pump seal vent hole.go on advrider and lose yourself in the thread which is several dozen pages long
if it starts leaking badly the new water pump required.
plus you have been here long enough to know about the search function surely

2016 TB 2500 miles in for the record before any signs. Now I know what it is I'll keep an eye on it. Ta

Or a New engine and the fluid Staines (well used to) the engine paint if not cleaned off straight away.

Mine was leaking oil from there, new water pump fitted 2 weeks ago 1 year old GS done 6,000 miles !

They moved the hole !

But they added 2 more :blast , one looks like some sort of brass valve the second has a bolt :nenau

Gosh that looks unusual - I've never seen that before.

Are B&Q supplying parts now? It's starting to look like a steam engine

Response from BMW dealer: bike booked in for possibly a new water pump in 2 weeks time.
