Replacing the fork oil in my 1150 (took forks out and inverted rather than use drain plug) but I can see lots of gunk in the bottom.
What is best to use to flush the forks out before refilling with clean oil?

Ta.

In case anybody asks I shall being refilling with 10w and 470ml in each fork.

Are the suggestions above likely to damage the inside of the forks?
Any thoughts or further suggestions?
Might just go down the warm water a washing up liquid just to play safe.

As fork oil is cheap, why not refill, ride, then drain again, this time using the drain plug. As this gunge has settled in the bottom of the fork, then draining through the drain plug will push it out, rather than inverting the removed forks.:nenau

You are joking right??

Change the oil, go for a good ride, change it again whilst everythings still warm.

Don't make such a fuss it's only there to lube and stop the springs going rusty it dosent do anything else just change it how can gunge do any harm in this situation?. Just ride the thing.
