Just a suggestion but shouldn't we add the new Ducati Multi 1200 to the list of bikes here. Plenty of us will be switching to them and I'd be interested to see how they get on :nenau

knocking no one but i dont get this other bike lark,,,,
its UKGSER?? bmw??
theres forums for other bikes,
we might as well be VISORDOWN or REVCOUNTER?????
or are we going ADV RIDERUK?

A bit harsh seeing as there are Sections for other Makes, KTM,Yam Tenere,Serow etc. Mind you,the GS SHOULD remain as the Focus of the Forum.

Says the Bloke with the Megamoto,KTM 950 SM and ZRX1200 :augie .

The website you are seeking is www.UKMultistrada'er.com :D

As for plenty of us switching to them - well I think that is a bit previous and not to say very presumptious.:rob

didnt mean it to be harsh:thumb
i just dont think there should be sections for anything but bmw gs,s on here,
plenty of room on the internet for dedicated make forums:thumb

Bounce - come on MODS what do you say. I've just bought a GS but I'd be very interested to hear what ex-GS riders think of the new Ducati. In the same way I was interested to hear about KTMs from GS riders who could directly compare and contrast the 2 when I moved from an 1150GS to a KTM 950 a few years ago. I found that information very helpful when making the decision to switch.

For those who got upset by this suggestion, I'm not looking to insult the brand, your choice of bike or this website  I accept that inevitably you need to limit the number of bikes given a specific sub-form but the Ducati is THE biggest competitor to the GS since the KTM and surely deserves a pitch? Particularly now the press reviews are out which basically conclude that this bike lives up to the hype. I'd be interested to hear what GS riders think if they test ride one or chose to own one.

PS Having returned to the fold I will pay my subs - promise :thumb2

I would be interested in the thoughts of anyone who has switched. I did consider the Multi before the GS but having owned two previous Ducatis (and had a lot of pleasure from them) I think that for an Italian bike that relies so much on the electrics, the choice was made for me !!!

a friend of mine has one of the first 2 arrived in the UK, I will let you know what he thinks!

I had a Mk1 Numptystrada; sports bike with high h'bars. A great B road bike but way to flighty on motorways compared to the GS.

....and I had far more warranty work on my 2004 12GS than any of the Ducati's that I have owned!

I think I can safely speak on behalf of the other mods and say not a chance to a Multistrada section. This section more than covers this and the other brands.

I think you may be mistaken when you say it's the GS's biggest competitor as the KTM is definately this. It's a road bike dressed up to look like a GS in my opinion. Will be a great road bike I'm sure but I can't see too many GS's being swapped for a £15,000 piece of bling:eek:

Not a section for just the new Multi on it's own, but i'd be interested to see how many other GS riders own a Ducati as well. I do, and think they go together quite nicely. There is a section for Harleys:ymca, why not Ducati? Sports bike prejudice?
