This is my, one uncaring owner from new, 2019 NC750X. The perfect commuter or winter hack.

It was purchased from stock at Suttons Honda, Tamworth and registered on a '20 plate. The 2019 model was the first to have the switchable traction control (Useless) and a 750rpm raised rev limiter (Also useless as it revs like a diesel)

This was bought for the sole purpose of getting me to and from work in all weathers, day and night, year round, until retrirement. I got it home from Suttons and duly drowned in ACF50, which was probably the last bit of affection it was shown! It has however preformed brilliantly up and down the M42 and M6 averaging, according to my Fuelly page, 87mpg over 26750 odd miles. It got fuelled, chain lubed, and occasionally squirted with the works jet wash, but just kept on going through sleet, snow, and salt!

As you will see in the photos though, it's something of a turd now. There is corrosion all over the place. Paint is coming off the fork legs, the radiator, engine casings, exhaust, stands (Genuine Honda centre stand), wheels. . . yeah, pretty much all of the painted/ plated bits. Wife asked if I was going to wash it, and was completely nonplussed when I told her I had!

It had fork seals replaced under warranty at two years old. Had rear wheel bearings replaced about 3000 miles ago. Chain (D.I.D) and front sprocket (JT) are brand new. The rear sprocket is the original it came with, as I almost immediately replaced it with a CB500X spare I had, which is a direct swap but 2 teeth smaller. This just made it a little more relaxed on the motorway, and put the speedo spot on to the Garmin Satnav, which I will be leaving on.

It has cheapo internet auction site hand guards, and functional Oxford heated grips. Also has some cheap sliders to allow the screen to be moved up and down a bit. These moved the screen ever so slightly forwards, which meant that at night, the headlight reflected under the screen which was far from ideal on the unlit roads close to home. I have cunningly applied a strip of edging trim to the bottom of the screen, and wedged in a piece of bicycle inner tube behind so that no there is no headlight glare at all. There is even a bit of window tinting film over the main beam blue light, which stops it blinding you just when you really need to see! There is a plastic guard fitted behind the rear shock giving it a bit of protection from road grime. Finally, I think, there is a optimate lead in the 'frunk'.

Tires are Michelin Pilot Road 5s with about 3mm on the front, and 4mm rear.

The V5 is in my name, I have both keys, there is no finance on it.

Due a service. Currently showing 26873 miles which is unlikely to change.

Mot due 29/3/25.

Finally, I need it gone. Our retirement plan is to up sticks to France, and I always said that the NC wouldn't come with us. Well, the time is here and our house should sell in the next few week, when we will pop over to that there France to find somewhere to live. I will have nowhere to store the NC so it has to go. I will be a bit sad, it has served me very well. But this was always the plan.

Price £2400 ono.

I am about 2 miles outside Atherstone, North Warwickshire.
Either message here or give me a bell on 07971 428656.

I will pop on a few more photos shortly, just to really show how grotty it is in places!

Cheers, Neil.

One of the couriers who collects from the hospital where I work has one of these. His looks a LOT worse than yours, and still it gives him no trouble. Fantastic tool bike.

Pretty much unbreakable GLWS (y)
Yep. Honda! There's a courier on the owners forum who ran a 2014 model to over 300,000 miles. Plenty of other high milers on there too.

DIY bump!;)

Excellent piece of kit. GLWS

Pretty much unbreakable GLWS (y)
But not un rustable!
A friend of mine owned 2 as commuter bikes, doing about 60 miles a day.
As said, unburstable with Honda reliability. Very capable work horses.

Love the ad... My GS gets similar treatment and sometimes things are just for using rather than cosmetic mithering... I once had a GL1500 in as part ex for a new BM and every chrome panel was severely rusty but it still ran like a watch... The new owner needs a wire brush and some silver and black enamel and then it would be "good condition" on eBlag...👍😂

Absolutely agree. I run my 1250 all year round. Perhaps wash it more than Ethaneil, but just spray it with scotoiller 365. A bike is to be ridden, not propped up in a warm garage for sunny days, and cleaning and polishing.

And we share the same climate as I'm only about 3 miles from him 🤣

Anyone who wants to polish and clean my V85tt is more than welcome to get stuck in. I’m sure they would find it therapeutic. JJH

If only I'd thought of this . . .

However, as I'm,
a) retiring,
b) emigrating
c) selling it,
the advice is about as much use as tits on a fish.

But ta for the bump:thumb

As of this morning, now has twelve months MOT.

As stated, this HAS to go. The house is going next week, and then I'll be out of the country for a month.

How about £2150 without the sat nav?

Mentioned this to the OH as something to commute on and be able to leave outside her house:
Will give her another nudge.
