For your consideration: Not Dead Yet - The Video Series

Thank you Oisin

Truly wonderful experience watching your story Oisin. Many many Thanks :thumb

I don't think I'll ever be in a position to follow your path, mainly because I just don't have balls big enough to contemplate an enormous journey such as yours. You have however been the final inspiration and driver for me to go and get a GS so that story begins this Saturday for me :flag ( Got my Tesco store locator map ready)

Cheers Big Man :beerjug:

Thanks Oisin

That was a fantastic trip, great footage, kept myself & Mrs Murgy hooked for the duration :clap:clap:clap:bow:bow:bow:thumby:

Oisin, just finished watching your last video. Many thanks for taking the time to post on here. You have had some epic journeys, shared with many armchair adventurers:Motomartin like me who are taken on yours , sharing your emotions. So much so that I still keep looking over me shoulder for BEARS
Good to see you are keeping the 1200GS as well as Sam Gamgee from last trip.
How did the 2 bikes compare with each other. Did you prefer one over the other. Clearly don't let them see the response to this, sibling rivalry and all that. :thumby:

That was, without doubt, the best travel report I have seen. The man is a Legend. :bow

Hi there...
So for this I'm using Final Cut Pro 10
I've also used Adobe Premiere Pro ...

The original vids were all done with Microsoft movie maker and I always said that I wanted to go back and do a proper job of it...and this is the result... for good or ill! :-)
:aidan
I watched up to where you got to Alaska/Canada (Ep 27/28?) but in mid April I had a motorbike accident in Southern Spain and have not been well enough to catch up until today.

Problem is, your videos have disappeared from my YouTube history and they don't appear in a search either! So I tried accessing them via UKGSer, but when I try to play the video it says "This video is private" and won't play!!

What's happened???

That's a shame. I had got up to about part 24 and really enjoyed it and was looking forward to watching the remaining vids.

Oisin, can you let us know why you have removed your story from the forum?

aww feckit :(
i hadn't watched / been 'saving them up'.
Now will i ever see them?! :tears

WTF :nenau:nenau who upset the big fella ??

Taken from ABR:-

"Oisin seems to have pulled the entire thread he started on the HUBB for these too. On that thread there was talk about the use of Google Earth and restrictions and that a license wmay be needed for distribution and broadcast, so I'd speculate that perhaps he's had a stiff email from YouTube or Google about copyright infringement and has either made them private himself or had it enforced upon him.

Or maybe he's got a broadcasting or distribution deal, in which case good on him and where do I buy the DVD"?

"Just went to send him a Facebook message and I see he's pulled his profile there too. The plot thickens".

Thanks to the Mod

Hi folks,
Nothing so dramatic - and thanks to Paul the moderator for giving me a kick in the shins......(Really like the its my ball and i'm not playing anymore metaphor!)

All that happened was when I was looking at the analytics - no one was watching them..... no pirate stuff...no tv deal.... nothing sordid..... i just got a pain in my hole ..... best analogy i can give you is it was like playing to an empty room - of course then today I got a shit load of requests to put them back up....which was a total surprise....

so here you go!

All the vids are here...

Oisin there are so many people watching you wouldnt believe, even non bikers I know have watched them all.

If I where you I'd consider a kickstarter and get them all put together on a DVD, there are plenty who would help raise the money to get it done.

Ed March has just done this, his DVD is due out in June!!

A personal thanks, I have really enjoyed the videos. Have them bookmarked in XBMC to watch on the TV all over again now!!!

Oisin.

I can tell from the stuff you put in the documentry that you care about this kind of thing..

But I respectfully submit that you've done all the work... the playing part of "playing to an empty room" is already done... So I'd leave them up if I were you...

If you look back in history, pretty much all of the master artists were virtually unknown during their own lifetimes. Give it time, and perhaps work at promoting them a bit more... (though I realise that promoting opens the door for more feelings of 'rejection'... )

They really are very well done. I'd like to watch them again when I've read the book...

Top man.
I find it helps to firstly assume you're playing to empty room if others enjoy it, all well and good but you have your own record of events in a convenient format. :)

Unknown to me, my wife had a book made of my Mongolian RR, just the one copy.
