Went to test ride a new 1200gsa today with all the gadgets on , after considering a px on mine , 34 miles later riding back to the dealers it broke down in the middle of the traffic lights, no dash lights ,no nothing, just stopped :( an hour later i was recovered back to the dealers to be asked what had i done to it . not great for a 341 mile bike

I have got a gsa im using it to wean me off sports bikes, i just fancied a new gsa, but put a dampener on looking for a new one to be honest what happened this afternoon :(

I havent got a clue it wouldnt do anything ,as i said no lights on the dash or anything .I took the seat off and checked the battery and conections etc to get it back to the dealers but nothing, so pushed it to the side the road swearing alot then started the task of getting in contact with the dealer to come and get it

Hi FB,
Was that the Gloucester dealership?
What was their attitude to this incident?

hi buz i cant say sorry , they specificly ask me not to mention the dealer involved and have offered me a free services for the trouble it caused me , so i suppose that answers the one of your questions but not the other :) ps i know the dealer reads these threads and i visited 3 today so im not pointing the finger at anyone or breaking my promise with them if your reading this

Cant say fairer than that, personally it sounds like they have done the decent thing, its not their fault the bike broke down.

Just had a phone call from the dealer regarding the breakdown . I was told that after an in depth check the ecu was faulty or a wires to it . This has now been changed and the bike is in full working order, he said IF they play up [because its very, very rare they do ] it should go into whats called limp mode, so you can creep along and dont get stranded , but this particular one just packed up 'hence nothing or no warning at traffic lights' . ps and i still get my freebies :thumb2

Hm, so the failsafe, get you home safe mode failed................ Quality
