Forest Drive

You mean the one through Keilder where Jim McSharry so skillfully parked his 1150 in a ditch several years ago? :D:D I'm sure there's a picture of that somewhere Dave. I've only done it on TKCs so can't comment on the tyre bit.

I did it a few years a ago on GS using a pair of Battleaxe 020's, it was fine:thumb

Done it a couple of times, other than the potholes you could do it on any bike :thumb2

I did it a few years ago in both directions - with luggage and standard tyres BUT did remember to turn off the ABS after each restart

There are a few sections with deep-ish potholes and where the gravel is less well packed which you need to slow down and stand up for.

It's meant to be 25mph limit, I think I did a little bit more along this section :)

I also did the one near Loch Awe (Scotland) in the rain on the same trip.

And the shorter one just off the Duke's pass that goes to Loch Drunkie

Dont anyone be fooled into thinking that ALL forest drives are like that cos the ones round Galloway at times are, a real mess with the timber trucks and the hauling out and in of heavy road building machinery transporters
oop to knees in mud n branches sometimes:blast Still all good fun on the RIGHT bikie !:bounce1
