Ok so fitted these today from Rugged Roads, pretty easy to fit after a little pissing about...jury is out..think they look ok and certainly will protect the lowers from debris and damage...

Yes kinda what i was thinking but i dont ride salt roads so its mainly to stop stone damage..but il see how they go..

Motocross carbon fibre fork leg protectors also work very well.., and look good too, IMHO.

I had a set of these guards on my 1200, but removed them in favour of neoprene fork socks, much to the disgust of some forum members - their disgust was due to the socks having zips on them & would scratch the forks......had them on for a year or so, removed them a few times to wash the socks......ZERO scratches on my forks :D

Tbh the 1150 lower legs get hammered by stones but a bit of hammerite silver puts them right, and my bikes dont get ridden in shit weather so looks like il pull them off they dont really sit well ....

I can't help but think you talked yourself out of those. Your list of negatives clearly outstripped the positives.

Just more useless Bling if you ask me!

The for sale section is your friend.

:D

If someone bought their bike on PCP and expects to hand it back after a couple of years for a new one well, all well and good. Low mileage/Like new.
On the other hand, if you have a bike over 10yrs old and looking worse for wear after it's been up and down the Queens highway in all weathers, as Cherokee says, slap a bit of paint over the not so shiny parts.

My 1150 is mint to be fair and 19000 with fsh its worth looking after but after fitting these and standing back they do look wrong so they will now live on a shelf for Timeteam to discover....

My forks, engine & wheel rim coating, lights were sandblasted during riding in the Middle East for years. Nowadays, corrosion control is slapping grease on areas.

Get the guards into the for sale section......sold mine there relatively quickly as they're popular with regular off road riders :thumb2
